On the touch screen on my 89 It has 5 lines going from top to bottom each line giving information. The forth line down turns to blurring and is hard to read.

I had an '89 Riviera with the same screen, back in the mid '90s. I had two screen failures in five years of ownership. In both cases the gun went wonky and caused wavy displays. So in my experience, the dashboard of a car is not a location that is likely to lead to long-term reliability of a green screen CRT.
